  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple vinegar (or dry apple juice)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef slices in soy sauce and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ketchup, hoisin sauce, apple vinegar, brown sugar, chili garlic sauce, and cornstarch-water mixture until smooth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok; sauté garlic and onions until fragrant. Add sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Push veggies aside, increase heat, add marinated beef in a single layer, cooking without stirring for about 2 minutes until browned.
  5. Stir everything together and pour in the prepared sauce; cook until thickened.
