  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (mixed with cinnamon for filling)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (for frosting)
  • 5 tablespoons butter (for frosting)
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer or large bowl, combine all dough ingredients and knead until smooth.
  2. Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth for about 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Roll out the dough on a lightly greased surface into a rectangle, spread room temperature butter over it, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  4. Roll tightly from one edge and cut into pieces.
  5. Place in a greased baking pan and allow to rise again for 45-90 minutes.
