  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine torn hamburger buns with melted butter and sesame seeds.
  5. Prepare the special sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. In a baking dish, layer half of the bun mixture at the bottom, followed by the beef mixture and half of the special sauce. Add the remaining bun mixture and special sauce on top.
  7. Finish with shredded cheddar cheese and slices of American cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for about 25 minutes; remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
