  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides for about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat, add BBQ sauce to the skillet with meatballs, and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast them in the oven for approximately 5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble subs by placing meatballs inside toasted rolls, topping with BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and turkey bacon.
  8. For extra melty cheese, return assembled subs to the oven for an additional 2–3 minutes.
