  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Extra chopped pecans
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Drizzled caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the crust mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle pecan halves over the crust.
  5. In a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar for the caramel layer. Cook over medium heat until bubbly, then stir constantly for one minute.
  6. Pour caramel over pecans and crust evenly.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over hot bars, allowing them to soften before spreading.
