  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • Gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil
  • Balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the silicone skull mold on a baking sheet and fill with mozzarella pearls. Bake for 6 to 7 minutes.
  3. After baking, press the mozzarella into molds and cool completely.
  4. Increase the oven temperature to 475°F, halve the cherry tomatoes, season with olive oil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, then roast for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Cut the baguette into ½-inch slices and toast in the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Mix basil pesto with black gel food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  7. Spread black pesto on toasted bread, return to the oven for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Top each bruschetta with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls.
  9. Serve on a platter drizzled with balsamic glaze and garnished with fresh basil.
