  • 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes (optional, for Creole style)
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced turkey sausage and cook until browned.
  2. Stir in diced onion, bell peppers, celery, and minced garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Add long-grain white rice, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and cayenne pepper; mix well.
