Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract (optional)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and optional orange extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in white chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden; centers may look undercooked but will firm up as they cool.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
