  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ tsp EACH nutmeg, ground cloves
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 4 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (room temperature)
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chopped pecans for garnish
  • Cinnamon sprinkling for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Chop peaches into small pieces.
  3. In one bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and cloves.
  4. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk to the creamed mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped peaches gently.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 80 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before frosting.
  8. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter, then gradually mix in powdered sugar; stir in milk to reach desired consistency. Add vanilla extract.
