  • 2 Tbsp half and half
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint bits

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt; set aside.
  2. Cream softened butter and powdered sugar in an electric mixer until fluffy.
  3. Mix in peppermint extract; gradually add the flour mixture until just combined.
  4. Chill dough for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Shape dough into balls and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 10-13 minutes until lightly golden; cool before frosting.
  7. For frosting, mix softened butter, half and half, peppermint extract, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  8. Frost cooled cookies and sprinkle crushed peppermint bits on top.
