  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
  • ⅔ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (divided)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (cold)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries by combining them with ¼ cup sugar in a bowl. Set aside for at least 30 minutes to allow juices to form.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add cold butter and blend until crumbly.
  4. Stir in milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla just until combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet; bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
