  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Gently fold in shredded Swiss cheese and crumbled turkey bacon.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. For the topping, mix ketchup and brown sugar in a small bowl and spread it over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing to retain moisture.
