  • 1 pound ground meat (chicken, turkey, beef, or lamb)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca flour
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons apple vinegar or broth
  • 12 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (grated)
  • Oil (sesame or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, apple vinegar (or broth), and sugar in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground meat with grated ginger, soy sauce, egg, and tapioca flour. Knead until well mixed.
  3. Form the mixture into approximately 2-inch meatballs.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides.
  5. Cover and reduce heat to cook through for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add the prepared sauce to thicken while occasionally turning meatballs to coat evenly.
  7. Serve on skewers or over rice/steamed veggies.
