Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup sago pearls
  • 2 lbs fresh strawberries (washed and stems removed)
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 tablespoons condensed milk (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup chilled coconut milk
  • Chopped strawberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sago: In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the sago and cook until transparent (about 15 minutes), stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, cover and let sit for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  2. Cool the sago: Strain the cooked sago and rinse with cold water. To prevent drying out, submerge the sieve containing the sago in cold water.
  3. Blend the strawberries: In a blender, combine washed strawberries, evaporated milk, and condensed milk until smooth. Chill in the refrigerator.
  4. Combine ingredients: Drain the sago thoroughly and mix it with chilled coconut milk and the strawberry mixture in a large bowl.
  5. Serve: Portion into individual cups and garnish with fresh strawberry pieces.
